SEARCHING THE DATABASEThe search interface allows you to query the database by keyword (e.g., "Swine," "Wisconsin," "mutant," etc.) or by virus attributes, or by both. By default, if you enter a keyword and select one or more virus attributes, the search results will include only those entries that meet both criteria. If you wish to see entries that meet either criterion, select the "or" option.
The search results provide thumbnail summaries including virus name, attributes, and file number. The left column of the search results table links to Word documents containing detailed virus information, such as origin, phenotype, genotype, vaccine use, available antisera, published references, and more. Left-click on the "Detailed Description" link to view the the Word document in your Web browser. To save the Word document to your computer, right-click on the link and:
if you are using Internet Explorer, select the "Save Target As..." option
if you are using Netscape, select the "Save Link Target As..." option
